Nithya Menen hits back at critics stating the actress does not deserve the National Award for 'Thiruchitrambalam'

Actress Nithya Menen received the National Award for Best Actress for her film 'Thiruchitrambalam'. Many fans and netizens congratulated her for the win, however, a few criticised that Nithya Menen did not deserve the award and noted that Sai Pallavi should have received it instead for the film 'Gargi'.


Reacting to the criticisms, Nithya Menen in a conversation with Rudrani Chattoraj said that there will always be people who have opinions that are contradictory and would judge if the win was indeed deserved or not. The actress said that if she had not won the award, then they might say that she probably did not do a good film and if in case she does win the award, criticisms come with statements that someone else deserved it better.


The actress emphasised that her win for the National Award was right and nobody could argue that she shouldn't have won. The actress explained that her stance in the film as Shobana is always considered a new path altogether.


On the work front, Nithya Menen is awaiting the release of her film 'Kadhalikka Neramillai'. Directed by Kiruthiga Udayanidhi, the film stars Jayam Ravi as the lead. The actress has also signed up for her next 'Idly Kadai' with Dhanush and Prakash Raj, which is directed by Dhanush as his fourth directorial project.
