Producer council requests theatre owners to ban fans' interviews on their premises

Following the excessive negative reviews online on the films like 'Indian 2', 'Vettaiyan' and most recently 'Kanguva', the Tamil Film Producers Council has requested theatre owners to ban fans' interviews on their premises and any YouTube channels near the premises and cooperate in withdrawing this FDFS public review/talk process altogether.
The council in a long letter mentioned that it is condemning the personal attacks and incitement of hatred in the name of film criticism while they said that the journalists have the right to criticize the gross flaws of films. The added that critics can openly talk about the positives and negatives of a film, but criticizing it and making individual attacks in a way to eliminate it as a whole, is an act of total destruction of the film industry.

"Critics have every right to review movies. But we request all journalists to write film reviews keeping in mind that hatred towards a film should not be sown in the media because of personal malice," they added.
"It is imperative that all the associations related to the film industry unite and stop this practice by not encouraging them anymore," read the statement.
