She had a dream Kollywood debut films with Dhanush (Mayakkam Enna) and Simbu (Osthe) but Richa Gangopadhyay hasnt signed for a single Tamil flick post that. While she says that she in talks for her next Tamil project, no announcements have been made. The industry buzz, however, is that the actress is only seen as someone who can step in as a stop-gap replacement for roles.
Sonam Kapoor and Kajal were considered for Osthe but Richa did the role in the end. Today, director
Sundar C is reportedly looking at Richa as an option now that Karthika has walked out of his project with Vishal. Also, the makers of the Telugu film,
Saar Osthara, have signed her on post Amala Paul rejecting the role of second heroine. We hear that she was keen on bagging the role opposite Arya in Ajiths next but it went to Taapsee finally.
Sources say that her fee is too high for a newcomer and thus filmmakers are not too keen on her. Others say shes too tall for the present crop of heroes. Whatever may be the case, despite praise for her performance in
Mayakkam Enna, roles seem to elude her in K-Town.
Meanwhile, Richas Bollywood dreams also seem to have gone for a toss as she opted out of
Shortcut Romeowith Neil Nitin Mukesh citing date issues. Despite repeated attempts, Richa remained unavailable for comment.
