The superstar
Rajinikanth starrer '
Kaala' was released in theatres in 2018, and the film had recently completed five years. The social drama marked Rajinikanth's second collaboration with director Pa
Ranjith, and the film was a successful one at the box office as well. As the film clocked five years, ETimes contacted Sakshi Agarwal, who played an important role in 'Kaala' and the actress opened up about the film, her memories, and her experience of working with Rajnikanth.
"When I received a call from Pa Ranjith sir's team three weeks before the commencement of 'Kaala' I was in the USA.
But it was a great chance for me to grab, and I met Rajinikanth, sir, a week ahead of the shoot. It's a surreal moment working with
Rajini sir and I have learned a lot from him and Pa Ranjith sir. Actually, 'Kaala' is a life-changing experience for me, and I travelled for almost 55 days with the veteran actor. From being simple to his attitude with co-stars, I learned a lot from our superstar Rajinikanth, sir. It's a great experience, and Rajini sir used to call me "Agarwal Ji".
"I became friends with
Manikandan and Huma Qureshi, and I am in constant touch with both. I recently sent
Huma Qureshi a carrot halwa when she visited Chennai. Manikandan and I used to encourage each other's work, and we would wish each other well whenever our movies were released. I have watched 'Kaala' 14 times so far, and the FDFS was at
Sathyam Theatre in Chennai"," shares Sakshi Agarwal.
