Shankar 30: Mani Ratnam, Lokesh Kanagaraj, AR Murgadoss, and a few other Kollywood directors get together for a celebration

Despite box office comparisons and fan rivalry, Kollywood stars share a great friendship, while Tamil filmmakers have a team to group at regular intervals. This time, several directors from Kollywood have gathered together to greet director Shankar, who recently completed 30 years in cinema. Shankar has posted a picture from the latest meeting of a group of Kollywood directors on his Instagram page and captioned it, "Thank you, Mani sir, for this truly special evening! Catching up with these fine and celebrated filmmakers, sharing memories while making them, and vibing to some evergreen #Illayaraja and @arrahman songs sung by @karthikmusicexp... I feel that these moments are the true wealth that we’ve earned! And thank you, @suhasinihasan, for the hospitality! Mani Ratnam, Vetrimaaran, and Director Sasi.".

Mani Ratnam, AR Murugadoss, Sasi, Lingusamy, Gautham Menon, Lokesh Kanagaraj, and Karthik Subbaraj spent a gala time with Shankar in a meeting arranged by Mani Ratnam's wife and actress Suhasini. Vetri Maaran was also reportedly present at the gathering, as director Shankar listed out his name on Instagram, however, the former is missing in the picture. Singer Karthik energized the gathering by singing songs of Ilaiyaraaja and AR Rahman, and it was a happy day for Kollywood directors.
