Silambarasan's Maanaadu to release in October for Ayudha Pooja?

Actor Silambarasan's upcoming film 'Maanaadu' directed by Venkat Prabhu is one of the most awaited films of the year. While the shooting for the political thriller was wrapped up a few months ago, the film's release has been delayed due to the lockdown because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Now, the latest buzz is that the makers are planning to release the film on October 14, for the Ayudha Pooja weekend, if the theatres are opened by then.
The film has Kalyani Priyadarshan playing the leading lady with SJ Suryah, Bharathiraja, SA Chandrasekhar, Premgi Amaren, Manoj, and others in important roles. Yuvan Shankar Raja is scoring the music, and the film is bankrolled by Suresh Kamatchi's V House Productions.
Initially, 'Maanaadu' was all set to release on May 14, on the occasion of Eid, but got pushed due to the coronavirus pandemic situation. Touted to be a political thriller, the major part of the film was shot in Chennai and Puducherry.
