Simbu croons, again!

Simbu reportedly kept them waiting for three months before he actually turned up on the studios no, not for a role in a movie but to lend his voice!
The actor, who is taking his playback singing as seriously as his acting career, recently lent his voice for a song in the Prashanth-starrer Mambattiyan. Sources present at the time of recording which happened in the middle of the night feel that this is one of the best numbers Simbu has recorded for in recent times.
A source reveals, The song���������s a remix version of the hit number Kaattu Vazhi Pora Ponne from the original Malayoor Mambattiyan.
Prashanth, who plays the lead in the film, confirms, Simbu recorded the song last week. He was shooting for a couple of his films and dropped in one night to sing the remix version of Kaattu Vazhi. The album will also have the plain version of the song, which has been sung by my father Thiagarajan. Kaattu Vazhi... was a chartbuster when it released in 1983. Ilaiyaraaja sir had composed music and also sung the number then.
When we decided to include the number in the remake, we wanted to give it a peppy feel. Simbu was the perfect choice because his voice bubbles with enthusiasm and has the ability to draw the attention of youngsters. The remix version will definitely make it to the top 10 disco numbers once it releases.
