Sivakarthikeyan not taking Santhanam's role
Santhanam will be playing the lead role in the Tamil remake of Maryada Ramanna
Santhanam will be playing the lead role in the Tamil remake of S S Rajamouli's Telugu film, Maryada Ramanna, with Srinath (who last helmed Muthirai) directing it. Since there was delay in kick-starting the project because of disagreement over the film's budget, there was buzz that Sivakarthikeyan might be approached to play the lead instead of Santhanam.
Looks like it's not the case as Udhayanidhi has posted on twitter that Santhanam will be essaying Sunil���s role in this remake and the shooting will commence from August onwards.
The Telugu original, starring Sunil and Saloni, was remade in Kannada as Maryada Ramanna, and in Hindi as Son Of Sardaar.
