Suriya's 'Soorarai Pottru' received high praise from both fans and critics.
Suriya displayed a fiery avatar as an aspiring former pilot, who wishes to start a low-cost transport airline. Recently, 'Soorarai Pottru' was announced to be remade in Hindi, and
Sudha Kongara, who helmed the original version, will be directing the remake as well. Now, the latest report is that the 'Soorarai Pottru' Hindi remake has got a stay from the
Madras High Court.
'Soorarai Pottru' was produced by Suriya's 2D Entertainment in association with Guneet Monga's Sikhya Entertainment. But the Hindi remake rights were sold by Suriya without considering the co-producer and not fulfilling commitments below the original agreement between both. So, the Guneet Monga of Sikhya Entertainment has approached the court and requested a stay. The case came for hearing at the Madras High court, and the judge, who heard the case, passed a stay order on 'Soorarai Pottru' Hindi remake and advised both the team to find out a friendly solution.
'Soorarai Pottru' Hindi remake rights were bought by Abundantia Entertainment for a whopping price, and
Vidyut Jammwal, who played alongside Suriya in the Tamil film 'Anjaan', is said to be reprising Suriya's role in the remake.
