Popular director Vetri Maaran recently shared information about his anticipated new film STR 49. In an interview with film critic Anupama Chopra, Vetri Maaran has stated that 'STR 49' will be based on his 'Vada Chennai' opening storyline. Initially, Vetri Maaran planned to have Silambarasan in the lead role for 'Vada Chennai.' But since that plan did not work out, the story had to be changed to Dhanush's style. Thus, 'Vada Chennai,' which came out in 2018, became a reworked story. Now, with 'STR 49,' Vetri Maaran is going to re-realize his first story format.

'STR 49' with crossover characters from 'Vada Chennai'

According to Vetri Maaran, 'STR 49' will include some deleted parts of the Vada Chennai opening story. At the same time, some characters will meet in both worlds, It will be unique to have a journey between the stories of 'Vada Chennai' and 'STR 49.' However, the director has confirmed that the character Anbu, played by Dhanush in 'Vada Chennai,' will not be in 'STR 49.' This creates new character relationships and provides an opportunity to preserve the original feel of the Vada Chennai strategy.

Vada Chennai’s gripping tale

'Vada Chennai,' released in 2018, is praised as a brilliant depiction of the brutal mob violence in North Chennai. The film narrates the events of Guna (Samuthirakani) and Senthil (Kishore), who had trusted Rajan (Aymar), and how a carrom player named Anbu (Dhanush) was directly affected by the betrayal.
In the end, Anbu follows Rajan's path, protecting the village from the pretensions of political and business circles. This ultimately created curiosity among the fans for the next part.
