Tamil Nadu government shuts theatres as Covid second wave hit the country

As the Covid second wave hit the country, many states have begun imposing curbs and lockdown to stop the spread of Covid. The Tamil Nadu government has decided to impose strict regulations to stop the spread. TN government has ordered all theatres, malls to be shut.
Kollywood industry incurred huge loss during the lockdown last year. Many celebrities and industry experts revealed that the industry is reviving after opening up the economy and now with second wave the government has again decided to close theatres.Though film shoots continue, theatres have been ordered to be shut.
Kollywood has been hit hard but the government has no other go than to stop the spread by shutting places where people gather. Sivakarthikeyan’s Doctor was scheduled to release in May. The film is directed by Nelson Dilipkumar. The film has Priyanka Mohan, Vinay, Deepa, Yogi Babu playing important roles in the film. Anirudh has composed music for the film. Vijay Antony’s Kodiyil Oruvan and other films were scheduled to release soon.
