Early in 2017, Tanishaa Mukerji had said that she wanted to open an NGO for tree planting. A few years down the line, the actress has already planted several saplings as part of her NGO’s initiative and is raring to do more.
The Unnale Unnale girl, who recently held a plantation drive, says, “Taking care of the environment has always been second nature to me. My parents and my family have all been super supportive and encouraging.

Now, the objective is to spread the word. More and more people should understand and feel deep within their hearts that the environment that sustains human life is slowly being destroyed and we ought to salvage it. With initiatives gardens of the world and school initiative projects, we hope to inculcate the habit of nurturing plant life and nature and bringing about the necessary change in the mindsets of this generation.”
The actress says her aim is to promote forestation and bring together the population of India on this path. “We want to motivate people to grow, nurture and care for trees and plants in urban as well as rural communities. We hope to reduce our carbon footprint by increasing the green cover,” she signs off.
