Telugu film industry pays rich tributes to Balachander

The Telugu film industry has condoled the death of director Balachander who passed away in Chennai on Tuesday. Film personalities have also flown to Chennai to pay their last respects to the department filmmaker.
Balachander made some of the most memorable films in Telugu. While making films in Tamil and other languages, he devoted time to concentrate on directing Telugu films.Some of the films that earned him a lot of appreciation from the audience include Akali Rajyam, Maro Charithra, Anthuleni Katha, Adavallu meeku joharlu, Rudraveena and Thoorpu Padamara.

Actor-turned-MP, M Muralimohan, president of Movie Artistes Association described Balachander as one of the best directors of not only South India but India itself. ���He made a lot of family and lady-oriented films. He was the one who introduced Kamal Haasan and Rajnikant,��� Muralimohan said.
Muralimohan pointed out that the film ���Ramadandu���, the film in which he acted, was produced in Tamil by Balachander. ���What can be pointed out about Balachander is that he was the one who exposed the beauty of Vizag on the screen. It was only after he captured the scenic beauty of the place, only films were shot there,��� Muralimohan said.
President of Telugu Film Directors Association, V Sagar Reddy described Balachander as a ���legend���. ���Balachander could aesthetically make a movie. What filmmakers struggle to convey today, he did two decades ago without hurting anybody���s sentiments or feelings. He could convince the audience with his story telling,��� Sagar said. A P Film Chamber of Commerce president N V Prasad condoled the death of Balachander. ���He is a role-model. He was a creative genius,��� he said about Balachander.
