Perarasu again teamed up with Vijay in his second film, and the back-to-back success made the director team up with leading heroes like Ajith, Vijayakanth, Arjun Sarja, and Bharath. Perarasu has mostly delivered family drama packed with sentiment, romance, comedy, and action, and most of them are commercially hit at the box office. But the director's same style of films stopped garnering the attention of the cinephiles. However, director Perarasu has a special place in fans' hearts as he was the one who connected actors Vijay and Ajith, who are considered as rivals by fans, during the time of 'Thirupathi' audio launch. Perarasu carries a unique following by having city names as titles for his movies, and it has worked for him too. Apart from direction, Perarasu has also acted in a cameo role in several films including a few of his films.Perarasu hasn't directed any films in Tamil for the last nine years, and if reports are to be believed he will be making his second innings soon. Perarasu has reportedly discussed a thread of the upcoming film with Vijay and is waiting for the actor's call to narrate the full story. Though he isn’t active in showbiz, he is an avid social media user and keeps his fans posted. He recently voiced out his support for Rajinikanth's 'Annaatthe' when fans compared the film with his debut directorial 'Thirupaachi' and mocked them with hateful comments.
