Director Krishna Vamsi is coming up with another family-oriented flick "Mogudu". Known for making socially relevant films, Vamsi believes that cinema is a medium to showcase our tradition and culture.
Not many people know that all his films are inspired by real life. Apparently 'Mogudu' is inspired by an incident that occurred during his childhood. 'Ours was a joint family and I grew up playing with my cousins.
There was a marriage that took place in our home and then suddenly things started going awry. Though later everything was fine, I could not really forget that incident. I took a leaf from that episode and wove the story around it,' Vamsi informs.
We ask him if he did any workshops before beginning the film, as the subject is close to his heart. 'No, I never hold any workshops before any film. I explain the subject and what I expect from the actors clearly. That is my way of getting the best out of artistes,' he replies.
Vamsi believes in keeping things natural. 'I was looking for a female lead and Ramya Krishna suggested Taapsee would fit the role. I had seen her in a Telugu film earlier. She is a talented performer,' he says.
Vamsi was all praise for actor Rajendra Prasad. 'Working with him was a great learning experience for me. He is one of the best actors I have worked with,' Vamsi says of the actor.
A prot'g' of Ram Gopal Varma, Vamsi has carved a niche for himself in Tollywood. 'I have learned a lot from Ramu garu. He taught me that independent thinking is very important,' he says.
