Varalaxmi's 'Velvet Nagaram' to finally release

Actress Varalaxmi's long delayed 'Velvet Nagaram' is all set to finally hit the screens soon.
Touted to be a female-centric thriller, the film is bankrolled by Makers Studio. Velvet Nagaram, directed by debutant Manoj Kumar Natarajan and starring Varalaxmi Sarathkumar in lead role has been announced as a March 6 release worldwide.
Velvet Nagaram, is said to be based on a real incidents that happened in Kodaikanal, and the movie also stars Ramesh Thilak in an important role, besides Kasthuri and Arjai.The film is based on the forest fire in Kounji forest near Kodaikanal and has music by Achu Rajamani, , who composed music for Urumeen and Yaanum Theeyavan.
Varalaxmi portrays the central character who comes to the city to investigate the atrocities meted out to Adivasis belonging to Kodaikanal. The subsequent predicament she faces, and how intelligently the truth is revealed, form the crux.
