'Vidaamuyarchi' OTT release date: Will the Ajith starrer break the OTT restriction to have an early digital release?
Starring Ajith and directed by Magizh Thirumeni, 'Vidaamuyarchi' was released on February 6 and has been receiving an overwhelming response from audiences. The movie features an ensemble cast, including Trisha, Arjun, Regina Cassandra, and Arav, with music composed by Anirudh. The cinematography by Om Prakash has particularly impressed fans, enhancing the film’s visual appeal. Despite facing initial criticism, Vidaamuyarchi has been performing exceptionally well at the box office. Earlier, it was reported that 'Vidaamuyarchi' might be available for streaming on the digital platform in the first week of March, but the latest report from 123Telugu, claims a different story. 'Vidaamuyarchi' might be advancing a week to have its OTT release, and let's wait to see whether the Ajith starrer will break OTT restriction to have an early digital release. Notably, Netflix has acquired the streaming rights for the film.
Ajith delivered a realistic performance as Arjun, a husband on a relentless mission to find his kidnapped wife. The film steers away from the usual hero-centric approach, instead focusing on how an ordinary man deals with extraordinary challenges. Set against the backdrop of Azerbaijan, the film’s unique geographical setting offered a fresh visual experience for the audience. While the first half progresses at a slow pace, many viewers find the second half gripping and engaging. Anirudh Ravichander scored the music for the action thriller inspired by the Hollywood film 'Breakdown', while the cinematography was handled by Nirav Shah.
Despite having a solid start by earning over Rs 40 crore on the opening day, 'Vidaamuyarchi' failed to see a major hike in the following days, and it made the film end the second week of its theatrical run with Rs 120 crore.
