Vetri Maaran's directorial 'Viduthalai' has been made in two parts, and the first installment of the film starring Soori and Vijay Sethupathi in the lead role is now available for streaming in theatres. The social drama is running successfully with a solid response at the box office, while fans are eager for the release of the sequel. Now, the latest report suggests that the 'Viduthalai Part 2' release might be pushed to a later date. Vetri Maaran needs to film for some portions in 'Viduthalai 2' and the director has planned to resume the shooting of the left-out portion by May/June. The makers have planned to shoot the remaining portions in a grand manner, and the film CG portions also need some extended time.

So, the 'Viduthalai Part 2', which was initially planned to be released in September might be pushed to a later date, and the sequel might release in December 2023 or an earlier date in 2024. The delay might disappoint fans, who are eager for the sequel's release, but Vetri Maaran will once again prove it will be worth waiting for.

Meanwhile, Vetri Maaran is also planning to commence the shooting of 'Vaadivaasal' once he finishes the work for 'Viduthalai Part 2', and the director is ready to begin the long-awaited film, which will have Suriya in the lead role. Vetri Maaran has also recently confirmed his reunion with Dhanush, and he has planned to start work for his fifth film with the actor, which will be 'Vada Chennai 2'.
