Freedom, hypocrisy, and final warning - RGV Tweet
RGV said the censor board was born in a time when images were rare and media was controlled. That time is gone. He said control today is impossible because no one can decide what people should or should not see. He strongly stated, "censorship doesn’t prevent exposure… it only insults the viewers."
He asked why people are trusted to choose leaders but not trusted to choose what they watch. He said censorship today is just acting. "What the censor board actually does now is not protection, but only theatrics," he wrote.
RGV also called out hypocrisy. He said people freely scroll violent content online but suddenly act concerned when a filmmaker shows something in a theatre. He said cinema is not a classroom. "They are mirrors, view points, expressions and opinions meant to entertain."
