Thalapathy Vijay fans took to X to express mixed emotions. While banner work and celebrations for Jana Nayagan were almost complete, the sudden postponement left them disappointed. Still, fans remain hopeful, waiting for the censor certificate verdict expected at 10.30 am. They wrote, “We are working on #Jananayagan Celebration and banners working allmost completed in Today but sad Jana nayagan postponed. but waiting to 10.30AM once censor certificate comming Blast-u-Blast”

A fan page of Prabhas shared their support to Thalapathy Vijay. They wrote, “Looks like #JanaNayagan has been postponed and the worst part is that it happened just a day before its release. We #Prabhas fans stand with #ThalapathyVijay fans. We know the pain when films get postponed close to release but your situation is much worse, considering it’s the last film of his career and the postponement came exactly a day before with lakhs of tickets already sold. STAY STRONG GUYS!! This was never a clash for us except for a few screen issues in certain areas and there is no need to fight with each other since our key markets are completely different. The postponed release should have a HUGE RELEASE and break ALL TIME RECORDS like always. You have our full support.”

Director Rathna Kumar know for Aadai, wrote, “Its Painful to see big films getting postponed time and again for the past few months. Tamil Film Industry is in Grave Danger. ‘The Raja Saab’ actress Malavika Mohanan who worked with Thalapathy Vijay, said, "Like all his other fans, I’ll miss him on the big screen”, upon the delay, while speaking with India Today. "Every time one of his films is released, it feels like a festival. There’s so much electricity and euphoria in the air leading up to the release. You really have to be in Chennai, in Tamil Nadu, to experience that. Very few actors can create that kind of atmosphere when their films are coming out," she added.

Another major Tamil film seems to have run into censor trouble. Sivakarthikeyan’s ‘Parasakthi’, which was planned to release during Pongal after Vijay’s Jana Nayagan, is reportedly facing a delay due to pending censor clearance. The film was expected to hit theatres on January 10, but as of Thursday evening, it had still not received approval from the censor board. This situation has added to the growing concern within the Tamil film industry about delays in the censor process.

Actor Ravi Mohan reacted to the ‘Jana Nayagan’ delay. On his X handle he wrote, “Heartbroken @actorvijay Anna.. as a brother I’m standing with you as one among the millions of brothers beside you. Filmmaker Ajay Gnanamuthu shared a tweet on the delay and wrote, “Absolute misuse of power. Latest report from India Today suggests the film's censor verdict for the film will be out on 10:30 am on this day.
