When Bollywood film ‘Fiza’ was released in 2000, it was widely appreciated by many. The film, which has Karisma Kapoor, Hrithik Roshan and Jaya Bachchan in prominent roles, is a crime thriller. Today, the film completes 20
years since it first hit the big screen. It was released on September 8, 2000. While Khalid Mohammed directed the film, its cinematography was by Santosh Sivan.
Back then, Kollywood director and actor
Vishnu Vardhan was working as an assistant to Santhosh Sivan. Sharing some photos from the sets of ‘Fiza’, an elated Vishnu writes “Oh my god 20 years of Fiza. My journey as an Asst in Mumbai. Thank you @Jhajhajha @santoshsivan @sreekar_prasad @iHrithik, Karishma Kapoorji , Jaya Bachan ji, the whole cast and crew for all the support and love.. (sic).”
Interestingly, 20 years later, Vishnu Vardhan is making his directorial debut in Bollywood with ‘Shershaah’, which has Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani playing the lead roles. The film has its music by Yuvan Shankar Raja. The film is said to be a biographical war action film. The director has given a couple of hit film in Kollywood and one among them is definitely Thala Ajith’s ‘Billa’. Earlier in an interview, Vishnu Vardhan had reportedly mentioned that when Ajith came to know about his Bollywood debut, the actor called him up and wished him the very best. After the success of ‘Billa’, Ajith and Vishnu Vardhan joined hands again for Arrambam in 2013, which also received many positive responses. Interestingly, the music for both the films were composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja.
