It was a sweet coincidence that
Trisha Krishnan’s birthday and
Thalapathy Vijay’s recent political victory grabbed attention around the same time, amid ongoing rumours about their relationship.
While neither has reacted to the dating buzz, actors Charmme Kaur,
Lakshmi Manchu and Radikaa Sarathkumar wished Trisha on her birthday, also highlighting the reported landslide victory of Vijay’s party Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) in the Tamil Nadu Elections 2026.
Why Trisha broke her engagement
Amid the buzz, Trisha’s old statements about her broken engagement have resurfaced.
In 2015, she had announced her engagement to Chennai-based businessman Varun Manian. However, the engagement was called off within months after she was reportedly asked to quit acting.
Addressing the decision, Trisha had told Onmanorama, “The person I was supposed to marry asked me to stop acting. Instead of films, I chose to put a full stop to my engagement. I will only take a break when I get pregnant. If I am not offered lead roles, I will do characters that suit my image but I won’t move away from the film industry. My wish is to act until my last breath.”

Vijay–Trisha films
Vijay and Trisha remain one of Kollywood’s most popular onscreen pairs. From Ghilli to Thirupaachi, Aathi and Kuruvi, the duo has delivered several hits.
After a 15-year gap, they reunited in Leo, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, once again proving the strength of their pairing. Even though 'Leo' received mixed reviews, the actioner turned out to be a superhit.
