The 61st Idea Filmfare Awards 2013 (South) is to be held at the Jawahar lal Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai on July 12, 2014. Announcing this at a press conference jointly with Worldwide Media CEO Tarun Rai and Idea Cellular's chief corporate affairs officer Rajat Mukarji, four-time Filmfare Award-win ner Dhanush said, Filmfare Award is really special.
The award ceremony that is held every year is now a part of our culture. It is every actor's dream to win a Filmfare Award, and it was my dream too. I came to this industry in 2002 and too. I came to this industry in 2002 and was waiting to win the Black Lady's heart for several years. It never happened. I had to break the ice and flirt with the Black Lady and finally , Aadukalam happened in 2008 and I won my first Filmfare Award for it.
The very next year, I won it again for 3. Now, I have won four of them. I cherish every award equally . As far as Filmfare Award is concerned, I am greedy . I want to win an greedy. I want to win an award every year. I don't know if I have been nomi nated for
Maryan yet, but nated for
Maryan yet, but I will be there whether I am nominated or not. The actor also announced his decision to do just one Tamil film and one Hindi film in a year. Right now, I am doing one Hindi film and finishing two Tamil films. I will be starting two more Tamil films after that. But by December this year or January next year, I will be done with all of them. After that, I want to reduce the number of films I do.
To another question on why he had made such a decision, especially at a time when he had floored the entire nation with his acting skills, Dhanush replied, Thank you for the compliment. But that only adds more respon sibility and pressure on me. I want to deliver my best. I want to devote my time completely to one film. Right now, doing two-three films, I really feel I am not giving enough time feel I am not giving enough time and therefore, not doing justice. I gave it a lot of thought and have decided to give one film my com plete time and make that film live up to the expectations people have of me. While he intends to cut down on his acting projects, the actor made it clear that this will not be the case with his production responsibilities.
He added, I started my company because when my brother and I came into this industry, we didn't have any back up. My brother had to face a lot of rejections and he was let down by so many people. Both he and I found it difficult to break through this industry because I was not considered star material then. So, we decided then that if at all God puts us in a situation where we will be able to give other young deserving talents an opportunity, we should give them a platform. Production is the most difficult part of a film, but I get great pleasure out of it also because when you are the reason for somebody getting a breakthrough here and making it big, it gives me great happiness.
Dhanush, who is shooting for director K V Anand's
Anegan, has suffered an injury on his leg. We were shooting a stunt sequence and I had to run. While doing so, my leg got stuck in the trolley and I didn't realize it. As a result, it got twisted. I have a secondgrade ligament snap and I have been advised three weeks rest. But I am cheating my doctor and continuing to shoot, he signed off.
