Yuvan Shankar Raja to be bestowed with an honorary doctorate today, September 3. The Sathyabama University in Chennai announced that they are honouring the composer for his contribution to Tamil cinema over 25 years.
The university released a statement noting, “An Honorary Doctorate will also be presented to Mr. Yuvan Shankar Raja working as music composer at the age of 16 and composed music for more than 150 films within a span of two and half decades in various languages.”
Yuvan Shankar Raja recently completed 25 years of his music career in the film industry and he has composed songs for 160 films in Tamil and Telugu and has also sung notable songs in Tamil.
He also celebrated his birthday on August 31. On his birthday Yuvan Shankar Raja had a AMA (Ask Me Anything) session on Twitter with his fans, and for one particular question asked by a media house on if he will ever be interested in a biopic, the composer said that there is no such idea now and in case if there is any, he himself will act in it.
Yuvan Shankar Raja also attended the ‘Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu’ audio launch on September 2 and he heaped praise on Simbu. Yuvan also revealed that he is a great fan of musician AR Rahman who was also present at the event and said that AR Rahman has always been his inspiration.
