Chennai gears up to say Chancey illa!
Music director Anirudh might still be shooting for his first music video, Chancey Illa, a Times Of India initiative to celebrate the spirit of the city, but it already seems to have caught the attention of music buffs online. The song, composed and crooned by the musician himself, has been directed by Vignesh Sivan. This is the first time that Anirudh is working on a separate song, specifically, a music video, that is not associated with any film.

Talking about the music video that the musician is making for the Times of India, Anirudh says, This will be an interesting catchy number about Chennai. I am right now rehearsing my steps with choreographer Satish for this song and I will be performing several dance movements for this number. This will be a song to celebrate the spirit of Chennai in its own slang. Chancey Illa is a common expression that we Chennaiites use. So, the song starts with it. This video will be released soon.
On the trend of making music videos, he says, Initially, I was not very interested in making them. When I worked with Yo Yo Honey Singh for Ethir Neechal, he told me that a composer should create his own style by working on several music albums. He motivated me and inspired me to work on videos. His idea has worked out well for me.
