‘Kaala’: Makers release ‘Kannamma’ song from Rajinikanth’s film

Nearly after two years, superstar Rajinikanth is back to the silver screen with his latest release ‘Kaala’. Much to everyone’s expectations, the Rajinikanth-starrer has received a fantastic response from the audience.
As a surprise treat for fans, the makers have now released the official video song of ‘Kannamma’ from the film. Composed by Santhosh Narayanan, the video song depicts the romance between Rajinikanth and Huma Qureshi, who’s said to be playing the former’s ex-lover in the film.
Not just in Tamil Nadu, but ‘Kaala’ has opened to very good reception from fans, despite recording a very low advance booking status ahead of the release. Reports suggest that ‘Kaala’ is Rajinikanth’s biggest release in the US so far and has superseded ‘Kabali’.
Directed by Pa Ranjith, ‘Kaala’ is a tipped to be gangster drama, which is said to have a strong political message. Set in Dharavi, the film has Rajinikanth playing a gangster named Kaala Karikalan, who is pitted against Nana Patekar, a cunning politician.
Reported to be made on a budget of Rs 140 crore, ‘Kaala’ is produced by Dhanush’s Wunderbar Films. Also starring Nana Patekar, Eswari Rao, Huma Qureshi, Pankaj Tripathi and Samuthirakani in important roles, ‘Kaala’ has music by Santhosh Narayanan.
