Story : The film narrates the story of a youngster, who wants to go to the US, but before he realises his life spirals out of control when he brings his grandfather from the village to spend time with him.

Movie Review : Erra Bus is about Rajesh, played by Vishnu Manchu, who wants to settle down in the US, but before he leaves, he brings his 75-year-old grandfather, Narayana Swamy (Dasari Narayana Rao) from the village to spend some time with him in Hyderabad. And co-incidentally, Rajesh begins facing one problem after another because of his grandfather, who is clueless about the life in a city. But Rajesh loves his grandfather and does nothing to set things right and that does not go down well with his lady love, Raji (Catherine), who wants the grandfather out of their lives.

Now, Rajesh is caught between his affection for his grandfather Narayanaswamy and Raji, who is a doctor by profession. At least on three occasions, he makes it clear that his grandfather matters to him more than her and this friction between them continues throughout the film. Finally, there comes a point where he cannot take his grandfather’s actions anymore. Imagine, the grandfather, out of sheer innocence, keeping his grandson’s laptop on a burning stove! He’s perennially misunderstood by the people in the apartment, who keep insulting him for his ‘country bumpkin’ ways, although all that doesn’t stop Narayana Swamy from going to their rescue when the need arises. If the situation which Dasari gets into sometimes doesn’t tickle you, then Brahmanandam’s role might just do the trick. He has to suffer the revenge of crows.

As far as the story is concerned, it all revolves around Dasari and full credit to the veteran for pulling it off well. He even has fight sequences in the film, apart from ample scope to perform in comedy and sentiment scenes, although the latter part does get boring after a while.Vishnu exhibits a natural flair for his role. Catherine Tresa’s role does not seem to have been etched well as one can’t help but blame the script which doesn’t let you connect with the changes in her behaviour.
The movie is an attempt to show the innocence of villagers and their good qualities and at the same time the selfish behavior of people who live in the city.
