Paarijatha Parvam

Story: Aspiring director Chaitanya (Chaitanya Rao) and actor Harsha (Harsha Chemudu) struggle to find a producer willing to cast Harsha as the protagonist. Out of desperation, Chaitanya devises a plan to kidnap Surekha (Surekha Vani), the wife of producer Shetty (Srikanth Iyengar). Meanwhile, Bar Seenu (Sunil), a local don and cinema enthusiast, undertakes the same job for a different client, assisted by his aide Parvathi (Shraddha Das). The plot spirals into a series of comedic misadventures.

Review: Set against a backdrop of crime comedy, Paarijatha Parvam features an eccentric mix of characters caught in a poorly planned kidnapping. The narrative attempts to merge slapstick humour with thriller elements, resulting in a vibrant but occasionally disjointed viewing experience.

The film’s strength lies in the commendable performances of its ensemble cast, including Sunil, Chaitanya Rao, Harsha Chemudu, and Shraddha Das, with notable support from Malavika Satheesan, Srikanth Iyengar, Surekha Vani and Sameer Hasan. Sunil’s portrayal of a die-hard Megastar Chiranjeevi fan and the comic interplay between Chaitanya and Harsha add a distinct comedic flair. The authentic use of the actors' real names adds a unique touch.

While the performances are commendable, the screenplay does not always provide adequate support, resulting in a comedy that occasionally misses its mark. Director Santosh Kambhampati excels in creating engaging scenes but struggles with pacing and narrative cohesion, often prioritising gags over a tightly woven storyline.

From a technical standpoint, the film benefits from Bala Saraswathi's cinematography and Ree's music, which subtly accentuate the comedic and thrilling aspects of the story. However, the editing could have been sharper to maintain a brisker pace and a more engaging narrative flow.
