After a strong first week earning of Rs 30.2 crore, the film saw a noticeable dip on its second Friday with Rs 45 lakh, followed by a slight recovery on Saturday, which brought in Rs 60 lakh.On Sunday, July 6, 2025, Kannappa recorded an overall Telugu occupancy rate of 28.10%, with the evening shows peaking at 35.72%. The Morning shows were at 19.03%, Afternoon shows at 34.00%, Evening shows at 35.72% and Night shows at 23.65%. This trend reveals that while the film may not be pulling massive crowds anymore, it still retains some draw among regional audiences during peak hours.'Kannappa' is one of the most expensive mythological films from Tollywood in recent times. The film is rumoured to have been made on a massive budget of approximately Rs 200 crore.
Directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh, the film tells the story of the legendary devotee of Lord Shiva, Kannappa. 'Kannappa' is a mythological film centred on Thinnadu, a courageous warrior whose unwavering devotion ultimately leads him to become a fervent follower of Lord Shiva.The film features Mohanlal as Kirata and Prabhas as Rudra. Bollywood star Akshay Kumar makes his Telugu debut portraying Lord Shiva himself, while Kajal Aggarwal appears as Goddess Parvati.The movie boasts an ensemble cast that includes Mohan Babu, R. Sarathkumar, Madhoo, Preity Mukhundhan, Mukesh Rishi, Brahmaji, and Brahmanandam in pivotal roles.The initial reaction of Vishnu Manchu’s 'Kannappa' has proven to be rather varied.
