Rytu Bidda directed by Gudavalli Ramabrahmam and written by writer Tapi Dharma Rao was banned in the districts of Krishna and Nellore. The film takes strongly opposes the zamindari system and this did not sit well with the zamindars of Venkatagiri who raised their voices against the film.
Released on August 27, 1939 the film was presented by a zamindar from Challapalli, Srimanthu Raja Yaralagadda Shivaram Prasad Bahadur.

It was set to be re-released after the Indian independence because in it’s pre-Independence release it was banned in a many districts of the state because of its criticisms of the zamindari system. 70 years later, this movie remains one of the most iconic films of the industry. Ramabrahmam also directed the film Malapilla in 1938.
