Aadi and Aadarsh -- two young t’wood dads on the joys of fatherhood
Young daddies Aadi and Aadarsh Balakrishna tell us how their lives have taken a 360-degree turn for the better, over changing nappies, feeding their babies and watching them grow...
Ayaana lit up my life; I’m so smitten by her: Aadi
My daughter Ayaana came into my life one year and four months ago, and changed it completely! As I have watched her grow over the months, I too have grown with her.

As a father, I want to be involved in every aspect of her life. So whenever I am home, I am totally in charge of looking after her. It has been an amazing journey with a lot of learnings. I still remember the first time I changed her nappy, I was little unsure on how to go about it and a little uncomfortable. But soon, I got the hang of it. Today, I’m the nappy-changing expert at home — I can do it in seconds. (laughs). On days when my wife is busy or when she just needs a break, I take over. I put my daughter to bed, I wake her up, play with her... The only thing I still have to master is the art of feeding her; that’s quite a task! (laughs). But, when she calls me nanna, the feeling is out of this world. It brings a smile on my face and she lights up my world. We love to chill together, and she even dances with me on my songs. Lovely Lovely from my film Lovely is one of her favourites. she loves fast-paced songs. I’m just smitten by her; this is the best phase of my life.
Fatherhood is fun; I am totally lovin’ it: Aadarsh
My lil’ boy Nirvaan is just four months old and it seems like he’s growing faster, getting louder, naughtier and that his cuteness is getting amplified with every passing day! For the past couple of months, both Nirvaan and my wife (Gulnar) are in Delhi and I’ve been missing him like crazy. So, I’ve been video calling him every day and trying to have our cuddly conversations. Boy, it’s fun! When he is not around, what I miss the most about him is his smile — especially the way he sticks his tongue out when he smiles; that makes him look even more mischievous and adorable. it’s incredible how emotional his smile makes me.

Nirvaan can almost sit up now; but I am already getting super excited about the day when he will start crawling and walking. Right now,
he is exploring things around him. whatever he touches has to go inside his mouth. It’s like everything has to pass his ‘mouth test’ (laughs).
I don’t want to miss a single moment of his wonder years. I always wanted to be a father and I’m enjoying this phase. I want to be involved in my son’s upbringing in every way possible.
