Nayanthara's upcoming film Anaamika is finally gearing up for its big release in Telugu and Tamil later this summer. Directed by
Sekhar Kammula, the film also stars Vaibhav Reddy, Harshvardhan Rane, Thambi Ramaiah in important roles. The film is the remake of
Vidya Balan starrer Kahani and the Telugu version is set in the backdrop of Hyderabad.
The film has been censored and it has been given a 'U/A' certificate with no cuts.
Ever since the film's first look was unveiled, Sekhar Kammula has been vehemently defending his decision to portray
Nayanthara as a normal woman, instead of being faithful to the original story in which the female protagonist is pregnant. "I didn't want it to be a factor to create sympathy for the lead character and I must specify that Nayanthara has done an exceptionally good job in her role. In fact, we were all stunned by her professionalism and there were action scenes where she insisted that she would perform without any body doubles," Sekhar Kammula said.
M M Keeravani has scored the music and the film revolves around Anaamika Shastri, an NRI woman, who comes to Hyderabad to search for her husband.
