Madhavan and
Anushka Shetty’s forthcoming film Nishabdham has generated good curiosity among the pan-Indian audience with its intense first look posters and a riveting teaser. Besides the lead pair, the
Hemant Madhukar directorial features an ensemble star cast like
Michael Madsen, Anjali, Shalini Pandey, Subbaraju and Srinivasa Avasarala in pivotal roles. Touted to be a suspense-thriller, crossover film has been mostly shot in Seattle and the post-production formalities are currently underway.
As announced by the makers, Nishabdham was scheduled for a worldwide release on January 31. However, with no sort of promotions in recent weeks, it became quite evident that the film will get postponed. If the on-going reports are anything to go by, the edge-of-the-seat thriller will hit the theaters on February 20 and the promotions are expected to kick-off pretty soon. The reasons for the delay are not yet known.
Shot in Telugu and Tamil, Nishabdham will also be dubbed into Malayalam, Hindi and English. While the cinematography has been handled by Shaneil Deo, Gopi Sunder composed the music and the action sequences were choreographed by Alex Terjiff.
During an interview with a leading daily, writer-cum-producer Kona Venkat revealed that the ‘Baahubali’ actress wasn’t the first choice for Nishabdham. He said “Anushka wasn’t the first choice for the female lead’s role as I have written the script for another female superstar. When I was returning from Mumbai, I spotted Anushka on the same flight. Suddenly, the plane had a tyre puncture and it has been diverted to Chennai. Meanwhile, I pitched the storyline of Nishabdham to her and it took a week’s time for her to give the final nod.”
