Anushka to play a man in Rudhramadevi

According to folklore, the Kakatiya warrior queen Rudhramadevi was designated as a son and even given the male name of Rudradeva. This episode gets an interesting twist in the historic period drama Rudhramadevi, in which actress Anushka Shetty reprises the role of the queen. To stick to the storyline and make it more realistic, Anushka apparently dons a male avatar in the movie for a few scenes.In one of them, she tries to assassinate a rival king.
Sources in the know say: ���There are a few scenes in the film in which Anushka appears like a man and she tries to trick rival kings and surprise them when she goes into battle.��� Interestingly, in the movie directed by Gunasekar,Anushka pulled off all the stunts herself including sword fighting, horse riding and battle scenes.Apparently, for essaying the male avatar, the actress changed her body language, her dressing style and even hairstyle.
