Besides award functions and private parties, it’s very rare to witness a group of leading actors or technicians under the same roof especially in South cinema. However, things started to gradually change in recent years as a horde of Telugu comedians are getting together for themed parties once or twice in a year. Meanwhile, in 2018,
Vamshi Paidipally hosted dinner for some successful Tollywood directors and that list includes SS Rajamouli, Sukumar, Koratala Siva, Harish Shankar, Sandeep Reddy, Anil Ravipudi,
Nag Ashwin and Krish Jagarlamudi.
This private gathering took place at Vamshi Paidipally’s residence following the initiative of Sukumar and the former. Bonding over food and films, everyone had a blast until 4 AM in the morning and sharing a picture from the party, Rajamouli wrote “With Vamshi and Sukku's initiative, met at Vamshi's place. Had a great gala time. Can never forget Shiva's and Harish's stories and oneliners. All of us were laughing till 4 in the morning.”
Surprisingly,
Allu Arjun mentioned about this special gathering on his Twitter handle and wrote “What Lovely Initiative by @aryasukku @directorvamshi to host a dinner for all the Directors. Soo good to see all big dirs in one frame . Nice of @ssrajamouli garu @harish2you @sivakoratala @DirKrish @AnilRavipudi #sandeepvanga #NagAshwin to support the unity”
On the work front, Rajamouli is looking forward to resuming the shooting of his upcoming film RRR (Roudram Ranam Rudhiram) once the on-going corona situation gets back into normalcy. Set against the pre-independence era of the 1920s, RRR is a fictitious story based on two legendary freedom fighters, Alluri Seetharamaraju and Komaram Bheem. While Ram Charan is playing the younger version of the former, Junior NTR will be seen as the latter.
Coming to Nag Ashwin, he has recently announced his next project after ‘Mahanati’ with
Prabhas and
Deepika Padukone as the main leads. Touted to be a first-of-its-kind sci-fi drama set in the backdrop of a third World War, the big-budget film is expected to go on floors in 2021.
