Chiranjeevi's Telugu remake of Lucifer to be directed by Mohan Raja
Chiranjeevi’s Telugu remake of Lucifer, starring him in the role played by Mohanlal in the original, has a new director now – Mohan Raja.
Previously Sujeeth and later VV Vinayak were attached to the project that has now gone to Jayam Mohan Raja, as he's known. The director and writer who predominantly worked in the Tamil film industry and made films like the Kollywood remake of Jayam and Thani Oruvan, and made his debut with the Telugu film Hanuman Junction, will be directing the remake.

Announcing the news on social media, the director shared a picture he took with Chiranjeevi and wrote, “With the blessings of my parents and well wishers, life has always gifted me better and bigger things. And this time I’m more elated n honored to direct a mega project with the Megastar @KChiruTweets himself. Need all your wishes n prayers #Chiru153.” (sic)

He added, “#Chiru153 A proud second time association with the Megastar after my father Editor Mohan’s blockbuster hit #Hitler (1997). Second directorial film in Telugu after my debut and highly successful #HanumanJunction (2001).” (sic) While Chiranjeevi is currently shooting with director Koratala Siva and Kajal Aggarwal for Acharya, reports state that he has finalised the script for this much-awaited remake. Mohan Raja is said to have narrated a script that has been tweaked to suit Tollywood audience. Shooting for the film will resume in February 2021 and will go on till April.
