Deva Katta pitches a love story to Akhil Akkineni

Ever since Akhil Akkineni made a cameo in Manam, there has been a lot of speculation about who's going to direct his first film as a hero. While the actor himself has asked his fans to suggest what type of stories they expect him to pick up, his father Nagarjuna has clarified that they are indeed in talks with few filmmakers and that a final decision will be taken in the next few weeks.
Recently, when Deva Katta, who's touted to be one of the primary contenders for the job, was asked if he's going to direct Akhil's debut film, he said, "I narrated a love story to Akhil and he liked it as well. I think he has also heard few other stories from other filmmakers. I don't know which one of these projects he's going to take up first."
Deva Katta's latest film, Autonagar Surya, starring Naga Chaitanya and Samantha, released to mixed response; however, the director shares a great rapport with Nagarjuna's family and going by the buzz in the industry, he's likely to direct a film with one of the three heroes from Akkineni family soon.
