Director K Raghavendra Rao announces sequel to over two-decade-old ''Pelli Sandadi''

Director K Raghavendra Rao's musical romantic family entertainer ''Pelli Sandadi'' is all set to go a sequel after 24 years since its release. K Raghavendra Rao has announced the sequel but it will feature an entirely different cast from the original.
K Raghavendra Rao took to his Twitter and announced the same by sharing a small video clip. Through the clip, we will get to know the crew of the sequel.
''Pelli Sandadi,'' starring Srikanth, Ravali and Deepti Bhatnagar, is the story of a musician Vijay Krishna who falls in love with his dream girl Swapna gets confused and is all set to marry Swapna’s elder sister Kalyani. Actually, he is supposed to marry Swapna. When Swapna finds out, she backs out for the sake of her sister's happiness. ''Pelli Sandadi'' remained the biggest box office hits of Srikanth's career. The film, which also starred Kaikala Satyanarayana, M. Balaiah, Tanikella Bharani, Babu Mohan, Brahmanandam, AVS, Sivaji Raja, Raja Ravindra, and others, had a phenomenal run in cinemas.
According to a report, the film is currently in the scripting stage. Shiva Shakti Datta and Sreedhar Seepana are penning the story and dialogues. The music of this film, composed by MM Keeravani, was one of the biggest hit albums of the mid-'90s. And the same was expected of Pelli Sandadi sequel. Keeravani has been roped as the music director of the film and has already kick-started composing tunes for the film. While the cast for the film is yet to finalised, it is likely to go on floors soon. The sequel will be bankrolled by Arka Media Works in association with RK Film Associates.
