As far as rom-coms go,
Geetha Govindam takes the conventional route of a guy, perceived to be an ill-mannered loafer, who tries to win over a traditional and beautiful girl. But when you have good writing and a solid star cast, it adds weight to any film, more so for rom-coms, where things can go wrong so easily and quickly.
Director
Parasuram gets it right so far with a supremely entertaining first half.
Vijay Deverakonda is charming as ever and is in fully in his element as he plays a youngster who is sincere but makes the wrong decisions and is often misunderstood. Rashmika too sparkles as the stern, hard-to-get woman.
There’s humour, drama and lots of good music by
Gopi Sunder. We’ll have to wait and see if the second half goes in the same vein, big thumbs up so far!
