'Hanu Man' director Prasanth Varma reveals divine interventions and near-death experiences on set

The director of the movie 'Hanu Man,' Prasanth Varma, shared a thrilling incident during his interview with Siddharth Kannan when he revealed a frightening event that happened while 'Hanu Man' was being filmed during the shooting had some near-death experiences the main actors could have barely avoided. He called out that these were only avoided with the feeling of Lord Hanuman's presence on the set.

Varma described experiencing an unearthly presence before the start of 'Hanu Man's' pre-production. He recounted the discussions he had with people who suggested he go to Hanuman temples and recite shlokas. Varma initially passed it off as his technical skill before realising he had been given heavenly guidance. Later he was told, "Do you think you are doing it all? No, it was him," clarifying for Varma following the release of the teaser, said the 34-year-old director.

The filmmaker went into detail about the many mishaps and close calls that occurred during the production, attributing the cast's safety to divine intervention. He gave an instance of scenes in which the actress and lead actor Teja Sajja barely avoided death. Varma emphasised an incident in which Teja escaped a tiger, stressing that the predator's blow could have been lethal. He also disclosed that he had encountered a snake while shooting; referring to it as a "nallatraju" (cobra) in Telugu, which he told that it was poisonous. It took the cast ten to fifteen minutes of close shooting before they spotted it, but amazingly, nothing happened to them.
The filmmaker indicated that he considered Lord Hanuman in making sure the actors were safe. He also made the amusing suggestion that Hanuman Ji was the "real director" behind the scenes.
This mythological superhero film has been making wonders at the box office, the film has registered its name in the 200 crore club collecting an estimated 235 crore worldwide. The movie is being highly praised for its interesting storyline and VFX considering the fact that it is a small-budget film.
