Tollywood superstar Mahesh Babu has turned 47 today.
Mahesh Babu was born as Ghattamaneni Mahesh Babu on August 9 in 1975. Born to superstar Ghattamaneni Krishna, Mahesh was brought up in Chennai. The actor made his debut at the age of 25 with Raja Kumarudu in 1999. The film, which was directed by K Raghavendra Rao, won two Nandi Awards in the categories Best Home - Viewing Feature film and Best Art Director.The actor also received the Nandi Award for Best Male Debut.
Mahesh Babu first appeared as a child artist in 'Needa' (1979) and continued to star in films 'Poratam' (1983), 'Sankharavam' (1987), 'Bazaar Rowdy' (1988), 'Mugguru Kodukulu' (1988), 'Gudachari 117' (1989), 'Koduku Diddina Kapuram' (1989), 'Anna Thammudu' (1990), 'Balachandrudu' (1990). Now, he established himself as a leading actor in Tollywood by appearing in several commercially successful films.
His film 'Maharshi' directed by Vamshi Paidipally bagged two awards at the 67th National Awards, including Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome and Best Choreography. Mahesh Babu is also the recipient of five Filmfare Awards, nine Nandi Awards, three CineMAA Awards and four SIIMAA Awards.
