Hear, hear Hyderabad! Vidya Balan unplugged, in unsullied Deccani...

There���s a reason why they call Vidya Balan an actor par excellence. She can get into character, any character, in a heartbeat. So when Hyderabad Times tried chatting her up in chaste Deccani, Vidya said ���Hau...kaiku nai ji��� without a moment of hesitation. What followed was a delightfully Hyderabadi conversation, where she spoke about her upcoming film Kahaani 2, her love for all things Hyderabadi and her memories of a playing an Old City girl in Bobby Jasoos.And she proved that she can give many pakka Hyderabadis a run for their money with her endearing brand of Deccani. Excerpts.
Vidya ji, ap itna time kaiku lagaye Hyderabad aane ku?
Aap logan mereku bulae nai...! (laughs). Mai ayi thi pichle saal for Weavers of India and had gone to one of the villages as well to meet the weavers.
Aap Deccani do saal pehle seekhe. Aap ko kuch yaad hai?
Meruku thoda-thoda yaad hai. Bobby Jasoos ke time, ek Mallik saab the, une mereku Deccani sikhaye the; kuch dus-pandrah din sikhaye. I had learnt a lot from him then, ab touch nai hai toh mereku jyada Hyderabadi yaad nai aari. But I���m sure agar mai teen din guzaar lu yahan and practise ho jae, toh sab yaad aajata. But mai mere Bobby Jasoos co-star Ali Fazal se abhi bhi touch me hoon and we keep asking each other, ���Kya karren miyan tum; yaad nai kya hum...? Tum toh mereku bhul ich gae na, mereko malum tha, aiseich hone wala hai...��� (laughs). Ek dusre se galat-salat bolte hai Hyderabadi mei, bada maza aata hai. Iss bar Hyderabad aate hi yadein taaza ho gai aur mai mere team se bolri thi, yaad hai yahan Kachiguda me shooting kiye the, Shamshabad aur Nampally mein bhi... sab yaad aata hai. And Charminar toh hai hi. Last time when I had come, I didn���t get time to go anywhere, but iss baar accha lagega Old City ke galiyon se guzarte waqt.
Kuch kisse sunao ji Hyderabad ke...
Mereku yaad hai, mai jab shooting ke liye Hyderabad aayi thi, mai airport pe chai lene gai aur unse Hyderabadi mei chai maangi. Mai Hyderabadi me bol-bolke sab logan ko bohat hasai (laughs). And shooting ke time pe we had stayed in Hitec City and I remember visiting Charminar, jis tarah chudi ke dukan pe gae the, Charminar ke samne photoshoot kie the. Ek din bohat thand mein raat ko ek se chaar baje tak shooting ki, wohi time ki permission mila ji hamku, kya karna!?. Nine degree tha temperature uss raat ko; bohat thand lagi mereku uss time, but shooting karna tha toh kiya.
Aapku Hyderabad mein kya pasand hai?
Hyderabad bhasha pasand hai, khana pasand hai. Actually, last time while shooting I couldn���t eat much of Hyderabad food as I���m a vegetarian and veg biryani bhi mereku spicy lagti. But mereku yahan ki chutney bohat pasand hai, aaj subha bhi nashte mei maine idli chutney khai, maza aa gaya. Mereku aur kuch mat do, bas chutneys chakha do, mai bahut khush rahungi. Aur double ka meetha, woh bhi pasand hai. Ek spoon khalo, one week tak no sugar.
Bambiya and Hyderabadi ��� compare kar sakte?
Hau! ���u��� ka farak hai. wahan tereko mereko bolte hai, yahan tereku mereku bolte. Aur mereku Hyderabadi bohat pasand hai, because I learnt it. Mumbai me kya hai, hum kuch bhi bol dete hai, ab kuch Mumbaiya raha hi nai, adha Marathi, Hindi and kuch aur hi hai. Hyderabadi Hyderabadi hai, mereku bada accha lagta hai.
Aapki fillum aari, Kahaani 2. zara batate hum logaan kaiko dekhna?
Mai kya bolu, meruku ye fillum ki kahani bohut acchi lagi... Durga Rani Singh acchi lagi. Woh dikhti badi simple aurat hai, but bohat complicated hai. Kafi logan ke dimag me yeh sawal tha Kahaani part one ke time se ki ���yeh aurat kisika murder bhi kar sakti hai kya���? Mai Kahaani 2 ke character ke bare me jyada nai bata sakti, but jaisi woh dikthi hai, woh waise hai nai... Yeh bilkul nayi kahani hai, sequel nai hai.. Apko maza ayega in guthiyon ko suljhane mein, bahut saare raaz chupe hai. Kya hora, kaiku hora, kisike samaj me nai ara aisa kaiku hora. Yeh jaanne ke liye theatre mei jaaku dekhna padega.
Hume malum aap busy hai, bahut filmaan karre, but fans poochre, aap do se teen kaiku nai hore?
(Laughs) Har fillum ke saath mai ek se do ho rai hoon. Siddharth (husband) ko samaj me nai aata do se teen kiske saath hona hai; kis character ke saath hona hai. Mai jo bhi fillum karti hu, usme ghus jaati hu. Filhal toh Durga Rani Singh mei ghusi hu.
