The first look of
Shriya Saran from director
Sujana Rao’s upcoming film Gamanam was released on Friday and the actress is excited about her role.
She will be seen in a never-before de-glam avatar. “I play a mute girl in the film. It’s a very raw, earthy character and I really enjoyed playing it. It’s a woman-centric role by a woman director and it’s exactly what Telugu cinema needs right now.
I can’t wait for the audience to see me in this avatar,” says Shriya. Her first-look from the film sees her dressed in a saree, with a bottu on and looking contemplative. It was launched by director
Krish who wished the team all the best for the film.
Gamanam will see not just Shriya Saran, but also
Nithya Menen,
Shiva Kandukuri and
Priyanka Jawalkar in the lead roles. The real-life drama will release not just in Telugu but also Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada. Writer Sai Madhav Burra has penned the dialogues for the film that will see music by maestro
Ilaiyaraaja. Gnana Shekar VS will helm the camera for the film, apart from bankrolling the film with Ramesh Karutoori and Venki Pushadapu. Shoot for Gamanam has been wrapped up and post-production is underway.
