Krishna Vamsi to remake ‘Natsamrat’ with Prakash Raj?

Maverick filmmaker Krishna Vamsi is in dire need of a successful film as all his box-office outings in the last decade turned out to be debacles. The 56-year-old is firmly determined to regain his lost glory with a content-driven film this time around. Totally impressed by the Marathi blockbuster ‘Natsamrat’ directed by popular artist Mahesh Manjrekar, the ‘Murari’ maker has apparently decided to remake it in Telugu.
Starring the versatile Nana Patekar in the titular role, the heart-touching drama depicts the tragic family life of a stage actor who has retired from acting but is unable to forget his fond memories of theatre. Reportedly, Prakash Raj is roped in for essaying the lead role of ‘Natsamrat’, and the talented thespian is very eager to play the author-backed role which elevates him as an actor. However, an official confirmation from Krishna Vamsi & Co is still awaited.
Prakash Raj’s last film in Telugu was ‘Hello Guru Prema Kosame’ in which he essayed the crucial role of Anupama Parameswaran’s father. He is portraying the role of legendary producer B Nagi Reddy in the highly-anticipated NTR biopic.
