Comedian Priyadarshi Pullikonda’s lead debut film ‘Mallesham’ is all set to hit the screens on June 21, 2019. Directed by debutant filmmaker Raj R, the biopic will narrate the journey of Mallesham, who went from being a school dropout to becoming the inventor of the now famous 'Asu machine', which revolutionised the production of Pochampally Ikat weaves.
The film will see actor Priyadarshi play the title role, while Jhansi has been roped into play the role of his mother. The film will span over twelve years of Mallesham’s life, between the late 80s and 90s, and is based on an inspirational talk that he had given over a year ago. The film was extensively shot across Pochampally, Hyderabad and other locations in the city.
Goreti Venkanna, Chandrabose and Robin’s lyrics will be one of the major highlights of the film. While artist Laxman Aelay is handling the production design, Telangana writer Peddinti Ashok Kumar penned the dialogues for the film. ‘Mallesam’ has been bankrolled by Sri Adhikari and Raj R under the banner of Studio-99 Films.
