Manam movie maniacs

Theres no movie lover as forgiving as a Hyderabadi. He watches a movie no matter how bad it is or how many times he has watched it already
Manam movie maniacs
Theres an unexplainable karmic connection between the average lazy Hyderabadi and a cushy seat in a city multiplex. It calls out to him at odd hours, it decides if his day is going to be any productive at all and is there with him throughout, in his good times, and even the bad ones the movies, one can safely say, are a Hyderabadis best friend.
1x1 polls

If you are bored chal movie jaayenge! Depressed? dimag kharab hora, kuch to bhi pichhar dekhenge? Birthday ya promotion? Imax mein treat detoon! Pappu pass ho gaya? multiplex masti! Anytime is movie time for Hyderabadis.
Metros across the country can hardly give mana movie maniacs any competition Mumbai may be Indias movie capital, Madras may be the film fanatics capital, Dilli may be Bollywoods favorite subject, but Hyderabad, with more than 150 theatres, is where movies are loved straight from the heart. We dont need no theatre, we dont need no art, those three hours in a movie theatre, no matter what the movie is, is our asli paisa vasool.
Movies are more than just entertainment for us, its how we live, laugh and celebrate. And most importantly, how we do timepass.
Heres how you tell us Hyderabadis apart from just another movie-goer across the country we watch everything! We dont pay heed to reviews. We dont want to know how technically brilliant the dream sequence is in one movie as opposed to the futuristic fight sequence in another. Even if we know, we dont care. We just walk up to the box office counter of city multiplexes with a single-minded purpose kaunsa ticket available hai?

Where there is a wince-worthy B-grade Bollywood flick or an obscure Hollywood horror dubbed in Telugu, there is a forgiving Hyderabadi ready to watch it. Not just watch it, but enjoy it. Yes, even the blockbuster apocalypse film 2012 which became a Yugantham in Telugu , in which doomsday victims scream kaapadandi kaapadandi or the Hindi Avatar, starring antarikshvaasi, regardless of the fact that the one who bought the tickets doesnt understand a word of Telugu or is in it just for the laughs. No, we dont even spare F.A.L.T.U. movies like Chatur Singh Two Star. Arre tickets available hai toh bas baitke AC aur popcorn enjoy karte hum logaan.
In fact, if you ask any Hyderabadi, picture ku jaayenge is more than just a movie plan, its a whole experience. We dress up for it, with as much care as we would when we go clubbing. The movie is just one part of the whole agenda. No trip to the multiplex is complete without a typical Hyderabadi people-watching session by the balcony railing of Prasads, a fish-watching session by the aquarium at GVK One or a posing session by movie posters anywhere we please. Thats the fun about movies for us. The joblessness of it all. And it suits us bindaas Hyderabadis just fine.
