Raebareli girl Meenakshi Dixit has had a roller-coaster journey in the showbiz business so far with a successful tenure in modelling followed by leading and supporting roles in a handful of films across Telugu, Tamil & Hindi industries. She roused to fame in 2011 by appearing in the title track of ‘Dookudu’ and nailed it with her electrifying screen-presence opposite Mahesh Babu in the peppy number.Her killer moves and glamourous avatar has hit the bull’s eye with the masses and this popularity has resulted in a couple of special songs opposite South stars like Venkatesh, Ajith and Junior NTR.
Before ‘Dookudu’ itself, Meenakshi Dixit made her Tollywood debut by playing the female lead in the low-budget college drama ‘Lifestyle’ and subsequently entered Malayalam cinema with Mohanlal’s Alexander the Great. In a short span, she essayed the leading lady in films like Devaraya, Tenaliraman, Adavi Kaachina Vennela, En Vazhi Thani Vazhi and Bayam Oru Payanam.

In 2015, the leggy lass grabbed the eyeballs by stepping into the shoes of an unapologetic prostitute in her maiden Bollywood project P Se PM Tak directed by veteran filmmaker Kundan Shah. Despite falling flat at the box-office, the political satire earned Meenakshi a good reputation as an actress. She played the role of Kasturi with aplomb and did not flatter at once while portraying a whole gamut of emotions. In the following years, she went on to play meaty roles in films like Laal Rang and Lupt.
The entry into the glamour arena started for Meenakshi in 2008. After getting trained in multiple dance forms like Kathak and western, the teenage girl appeared as a contestant in a popular dance reality show hosted by legendary choreographer Saroj Khan and made a striking impression which eventually led to her entry into the Indian film industry. Besides films, she started to make it big in the fashion arena and enjoyed the status of a popular model with several brand endorsements in her kitty.

In 2019, Meenakshi Dixit made a comeback to Telugu cinema after 5 long years with Mahesh Babu’s Maharshi. In an exclusive interaction with Hyderabad Times, she opened about her experience working with the South superstar after Dookudu. “It feels like I’m restarting my journey with Mahesh all over again. And it’s been great fun as he’s a great person to work with and is thoroughly professional. There’s never a time when Mahesh Babu keeps you waiting, that’s one of his best qualities.”
