Pawan Kalyan's 8-year-old son, Mark Shankar Pawanovich, is recovering after sustaining injuries in a
fire accident at his school in Singapore. The incident occurred on April 8, 2025, at a school located in the River Valley area, leaving one child dead and 19 others injured, including Mark.
According to a press note released by the deputy CM of
Andhra Pradesh, Pawan Kalyan's team on Wednesday, Mark has been moved out of the emergency ward but will remain under medical supervision for at least three more days. The young boy suffered burns on his hands and legs and is also being treated for complications arising from smoke inhalation. Doctors are conducting further tests to monitor his condition.
Pawan Kalyan, who was on an official tour in Andhra Pradesh when the news broke, immediately flew to Singapore late Tuesday night after completing his commitments. He visited the hospital directly upon arrival to be with his son. The actor-politician spoke with doctors and shared updates with his team, reassuring everyone that Mark is gradually recovering.
Pawan Kalyan’s elder brother, Megastar Chiranjeevi, and his wife, Surekha, also traveled to Singapore to support the family during this difficult time.
The fire reportedly started on the second and third floors of the school building during a student program.
Emergency responders from the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) acted swiftly to evacuate those trapped inside. Viral footage from the scene shows firefighters breaking through windows to rescue students and staff amidst thick smoke. The exact cause of the fire remains under investigation.
