Photos: ‘Banam’ fame Vedhika teams up with Aadi Saikumar for a bilingual

After portraying the quintessential ‘bubbly girl’ in a series of films, Kannada beauty Vedhika Kumar stunned the viewers with her magnificent portrayal of Subha Lakshmi in Chaitanya Dantuluri’s ‘Baanam’. The 2009 action-drama showcased the young actress as an innocent Brahmin girl abandoned by her in-laws because of insufficient dowry. Highly praised for her solid emoting skills, she proved to be the rare blend of incredible talent & flawless beauty.
However, Vedhika was not successful in bagging notable films in Telugu cinema. Apart from ‘Daggaraga Dooranga’ in 2011, she didn’t sign any film in Tollywood for almost eight years. Finally, the 31-year-old actress is making a comeback with a Tamil-Telugu bilingual film directed by debutante Karthik Vignesh.
Starring Aadi Saikumar as the protagonist, the untitled film was formally launched today with a muhurat shot on the lead pair. The regular shooting will kick-start from March 25 at the Talakona forest in Chittoor district. While Gautham George is being introduced as a cinematographer, C Sathya will be composing the music. Bankrolled by the producers of 'Arjun Suravaram', the cast and the crew details will be announced soon.
