Bhagyashree is making a comeback to Telugu cinema after 22 long years with the upcoming film ‘Radhe Shyam’. She is reportedly playing the mom to protagonist
Prabhas in the romantic-drama set against the backdrop of Paris in the 1920s. Nearly 70% shoot of the film has been wrapped up and once the on-going COVID-19 crisis comes to an end, the shooting will be resumed and completed in a pacey mode.
Speaking to Mumbai Mirror about her experience working with Prabhas, the Maine Pyar Kiya actress said that she had a different image of him after watching Baahubali. However, it didn’t take much time to change her view. “After watching
Baahubali, I had a certain image about him. But he turned out to be a soft-spoken gentleman rather than a flamboyant personality. He’s a team player and likes to bond with everyone” Bhagyashree said. Without divulging much of her role, the 51-year-old actress added she has shot for her portions in Georgia and Hyderabad.
Apparently, the Telugu remake of Hindi film ‘2 States’ was supposed to be her comeback vehicle to South. But unfortunately, the project got delayed owing to creative differences among the makers.
Meanwhile, the recently released title poster of Radhe Shyam showcased the lead pair, Prabhas and
Pooja Hegde, in a Barbie Doll dance pose and it has epic romance written all over it. The red-coloured flowing river in the background with ancient buildings on the side hinted that the film is set the backdrop of Paris in the 1920s.
Directed by ‘Jil’ fame Radha Krishna Kumar, Radhe Shyam features an ensemble cast with the likes of Priyadarshi, Sachin Khedekar, Murli Sharma, Sasha Chettri, Kunaal Roy Kapur and Sathya in pivotal roles. While acclaimed cinematographer Manoj Paramahamsa is handling the camera, RC Kamalakannan is acting as the head for the VFX part.
